With it, you will hopefully convince a client that you are worthy of the job they are about to hand you. If your art is good enough you get the job.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sounds simple enough you say... right? So what's all the fuss about? Why is something so simple so difficult? Why do we have such a hard time putting together a collection of our best work? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, don't panic. Putting together a portfolio is not as difficult as it seems, not if you know how. I am going to tell you everything you need to know and help solve the mystery. Follow these simple rules and you will have a winning portfolio each and  everytime you interview... but first let's take a little quiz.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;h2 class="title"&gt;1). T or F, My port folio is a collection of all my best art. After all, the more excellent work you show the more willing the client will be to hire you... and then be your friend.&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;h2 class="title"&gt;2) I update my portfolio....&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;br /&gt;     a) when the mood strikes.&lt;br /&gt;     b) never I panic each time I'm forced to look at my own work.&lt;br /&gt;     c) I tailor my port folio to each new client updating it as necessary. I am sure to highlight the type of art I know they will be interested in because I've researchedthe client and their art needs before meeting with them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;h2 class="title"&gt;3) T or F, I have a bunch of my best figure drawings from college in my portfolio.&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;h2 class="title"&gt;4) T or F, My high quality portfolio, hand crafted from Corinthian leather, is all I'll ever need, it pays to look the part. &lt;/h2&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;h2 class="title"&gt;5)  When showing your portfolio you should... &lt;/h2&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    a) try not to cry&lt;br /&gt;    b) make sure to include promotional material such as your latest mailer or a business card etc.  &lt;br /&gt;        to leave behind&lt;br /&gt;    c) make threatening gestures towards your interviewer if they won't hire you.&lt;br /&gt;    d) offer a kickback when assigned a lucrative contract.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The answers to all these questions and more will be posted in part two of Solving the Mystery of the Dreaded Portfolio.
